Canada Investment Summit 2026
The Prime Minister convened the first Canada Investment Summit. Hosted in partnership with the Canada Pension Plan Investment Board (CPP Investments) and the Public Sector Pension Investment Board (PSP Investments), the Summit brought together investors from nearly 30 countries, managing more than $100 trillion in assets. They came to Toronto because they see Canada’s economic strength and ambition – and they want to invest in it.
The Canada Investment Summit laid the foundation for enormous new investment and strategic partnerships, while accelerating existing negotiations – resulting in nearly $500 billion in new investment commitments to Canada.
Canada’s leading pension funds, insurers, and institutional investors committed nearly $100 billion in new capital to Canadian assets:
- CPP Investments and Brookfield Asset Management launched the $50 billion Maple Fund to invest in critical infrastructure and strategic industries across Canada.
- PSP Investments will increase its Canadian investments by 30 to 40%, an additional $25 billion in Canada, totalling $100 billion.
- The Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan (OTPP) will invest an additional $10 billion in Canadian opportunities across public and private markets by the end of 2027.
- Sun Life Financial will invest $5 billion over the next five years in critical infrastructure, including digital technology, energy, and transportation.

Reforma al Código Orgánico del Ambiente en materia de cambio climático y mecanismos de carbono
Se publicó la Ley Orgánica Reformatoria del Código Orgánico del Ambiente que modifica el Libro IV del Código Orgánico del Ambiente (COA), amplía el marco jurídico de la gestión del cambio climático en Ecuador e introduce, por primera vez con rango legal, reglas sobre pérdidas y daños, financiamiento climático, mecanismos de carbono, enfoques cooperativos y de no mercado, salvaguardas ambientales y sociales, y un registro nacional de resultados de mitigación y unidades climáticas.
- Institucionalidad y planificación climática
- La gestión climática se sujeta a la Estrategia Nacional de Cambio Climático, a las Contribuciones Determinadas a Nivel Nacional (NDC) bajo el Acuerdo de París y a los instrumentos de monitoreo, reporte, verificación y transparencia.

Ready for Take-off: Air Canada Expands Global Reach with New Routes and Flights to Asia, Europe and Latin America
Air Canada today announced a significant expansion of its global network in Summer 2027 with the addition of five new international destinations and seven new routes, along with increased schedules on key markets.
From its Vancouver trans-Pacific hub, Air Canada will be launching year-round services to Guangzhou*, China. From its Toronto global hub, Air Canada will begin service to Oslo*, Norway; Shannon, Ireland; and Nice, France, while resuming the London Heathrow Daytripper, boosting its Shanghai flights to daily, and its new Guatemala City flights that begin this December will be year-round. From its Montréal trans-Atlantic hub, Air Canada will launch services to Basel, Switzerland; and Dubrovnik, Croatia, while its Tenerife, Lima and Guatemala City flights will extend to year-round.
